Openings

We still have plenty of openings for sixth grade boys in both classes. If you know of someone that would like to enroll their son in cotillion, please encourage them to email or call. The balls are much more enjoyable for the students when we have even numbers.

National Convention

Sarah Heston and Amy McAfee, Directors of the National League of Junior Cotillions Katy Chapter, attended the 2010 Convention of the National League of Junior Cotillions (NLJC), July 30 - August 1, 2010 at the Charlotte Marriott Southpark in Charlotte, NC. At the event, Sarah and Amy received the Most Consistent Growth in Multiple Chapters Award. This award is given to the directors that have shown consistent growth when having more than one chapter season to season.

The three-day event was attended by directors from all parts of the nation who are licensed and trained to present etiquette and social dance for students in their areas. The convention focused on etiquette, dance training and new tactics for the 2010-2011 cotillion season. Says Charles Winters, President of NLJC, "The development of NLJC programs across the country has had a positive impact on the self-esteem of our young people."

The national program was founded in 1979 and provides for the training of thousands of students each year. The National office is located in Charlotte, North Carolina. For additional information about the local Junior Cotillion program, call (281) 224-1453.
